Minda Stoneridge Instruments Ltd. (MSIL)
In 2004, Stoneridge acquired an interest in Minda. Based in New Dehli, India, Minda designs and manufactures instrumentation for the passenger car, commercial vehicle and agricultural equipment markets. This joint venture is expected to benefit from new regulations adopted by the Indian government to tighten emission standards for commercial vehicles, which will necessitate a transformation from mechanically to electronically controlled engines.
The Minda group of companies is a family-owned conglomerate that provides wiring, switches, locksets and instrumentation and has proven to be an effective market maker in Asia. As a result of the Minda joint venture, Stoneridge now has global capabilities for electronic instrumentation focused on the automotive and commercial vehicle markets.
