STOCKHOLM, Sweden — October 29, 2020 — Stoneridge, Inc. (NYSE: SRI), a leader in highly engineered electrical and electronic components for the commercial vehicle and automotive industry, today announced its Örebro facility has been recognized by Lean Forum as the winner of the 2020 Swedish Lean Prize. Since 2008, the Swedish Lean Prize has acknowledged companies that inspire and drive the development and application of lean principles within the Swedish market.

Stoneridge has implemented a lean culture where team members are dedicated to meeting customer requirements focused on continuous improvement and enabling the company to remain competitive within the markets it serves. This increased emphasis secured Stoneridge as one of three finalists for this year’s award, and ultimately, its selection as the overall winner.

“The entire Örebro team has set the standard within Stoneridge for applying lean principles and for its relentless focus on improvement,” said Jon DeGaynor, president and CEO of Stoneridge, Inc. “We’re dedicated to applying this culture across the entire global organization and are continually improving our solutions and production processes.”

The evaluation process consisted of an extensive on-site assessment based on the 14 principles of The Toyota Way, an industry-leading set of principles and behaviors for a lean managerial approach and production system. The award was determined by evaluations from leading industry experts, along with interviews with Stoneridge leaders and production workers. Stoneridge was not only assessed on its own manufacturing lean principles, but its ability to serve as a role model for other organizations.

Winners were announced at the Lean Forum Conference, which was broadcasted digitally from Gothenburg.
